How long is the show?
The Lion King is two hours and thirty minutes, including one intermission.
What should I wear to the show?
There is no dress code for the show. For all performances, attire should be comfortable and appropriate for the occasion.
What is the minimum age to attend the show?
THE LION KING is recommended for ages five years and up. All adults and children must hold a valid ticket to enter Etihad Arena.
Do I have to buy tickets in advance?
The Lion King is the 'world's top-grossing show' that still sells out every night on Broadway, 25 years after its premiere in November 1997. The Lion King's 2022 international tour is coming to Abu Dhabi and it is unlikely to be repeated anytime soon. We recommend that you purchase your tickets in advance to ensure good seats.
Which awards has the Lion King won?
The Lion King won six 1998 Tony Awards®: Best Musical, Best Scenic Design (Richard Hudson), Best Costume Design (Julie Taymor), Best Lighting Design (Donald Holder), Best Choreography (Garth Fagan) and Best Direction of a Musical, making Taymor the first woman in theatrical history bestowed with the honor. The Lion King has also earned more than 70 major arts awards including the 1998 NY Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Musical, the 1999 Grammy® for Best Musical Show Album, the 1999 Evening Standard Award for Theatrical Event of the Year and the 1999 Laurence Olivier Awards for Best Choreography and Best Costume Design.
